Royale F. C. Abuja Organizes Awareness Walk and Football Tournament

Royale Football Club of Abuja Nigeria will on Saturday 25th July, 2015 hold its awareness program designed to create awareness for the ‘Bring Back Our Girls’ campaign and the ‘Safe Cities for Women and Girls’ Initiative by Action Aid. The program will include; an awareness road walk, a football tournament and presentation sessions by distinguished guest speakers.

According to the statement release by Shata Ibrahim of department of Internal Affairs (RFC), this awareness program involving influential youths and public figures in Abuja will commence from the Unity Fountain, the regular converging point for the Bring Back our girls group, and is to terminate in the premises of Turf Arena, Riverplate Park. Youths and the general public are expected to participate in the walk wearing the colours of the Bring Back Our Girls Advocacy group; red and white.

General Manager of Royale Football Club, Mr. Ibrahim Haruna, in a statement, said The program which is designed to create awareness amongst our youth and masses about the dangers of terrorism and gender inequality – as well as to promote good sportsmanship, teamwork and healthy competition will serve a valuable learning experience for the children and masses of our community. This program also intends to promote self-esteem through teamwork. This is in alignment with our vision that “Nigeria as a whole will become a sustainable, active and healthy community for all citizens to call home”.
Haruna also called on executives to participate in the walk, stating that the Walk provides ample opportunities for physical fitness, especially for executives with busy business schedules.
